Sparked by Doug Weight’s four assists and Manny Legace’s 44 saves, the Blues pounded the Colorado Avalanche last night 4-1 at the Scottrade Center. St. Louis jumped out to a 3-0 lead late in the second period and never looked back.

Dan Hinote got the Blues on the board at 11:17 of the first period. Bill Guerin lit the lamp for the first of his two goals early in the second. Doug Weight assisted on all four of the Blues’ tallies.

Legace was tested all game by a heavy Avalanche attack. The veteran goaltender stopped all but one of the 18 shots he saw in the second period. The victory was his third on the season.

The Blues have tonight off, but they will be back out on the ice tomorrow night when they face Calgary. The team is in the midst of a short three-game homestand.
