The Rams pulled a Houdini act in their 16-14 win over the Cardinals, and it was all aided by a familiar face.
Marc Bulger seemingly gave the game away fumbling the ball on his own 30 yard line with 1:58 left to play. Arizona’s Antonio Smith recovered the fumble and the Rams were looking like they were on their way to a second consecutive loss.
That was until former Rams quarterback Kurt Warner returned the Bulger favor and fumbled just 12 seconds later after Edgerrin James carried three times for 12 yards to put the Cardinals in game-winning field goal range.
Warner finished the game with four turnovers including three interceptions. Two of Warner’s picks came in the red zone, one on the Rams 13 and the other on the Rams 1. He finished 19-for-28 for 256 yards and a touchdown.
His counterpart Bulger ended the day 21-for-31 for 309 yards and a touchdown.
Rams running back Steven Jackson (24car-62yds-0td) was held under 100 yards rushing for the first time this season.
Torry Holt broke out of an early season slump with eight catches for 120 yards and a score.
James was bottled up most of the game but gained some yards late to pad his stat line. He ended up with 24 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown.
Anquan Boldin led the way receiving for the Cardinals with 10 catches for 129 yards. His teammate Larry Fitzgerald finished with six grabs for 65 yards and a touchdown.
