Charges have been filed against the woman suspected of kidnapping a newborn baby from a Lonedell home on Friday. Authorities in Franklin County have charged Shannon Torrez – who is also known as Shannon Beck – with kidnapping, first-degree assault, and armed criminal action. The 36-year-old Lonedell woman is being held on one-million dollars bond. The suspect – who is said to have suffered a recent miscarriage – was arrested last night after her sister-in-law saw the missing infant, noticed a tell-tale birthmark on the child’s forehead, and reported the discovery to authorites. Baby Abigale Lynn Woods was snatched from her home after the suspect allegedly slashed the throat of the baby’s mother. Mother Stephenie Ochsenbine has been released from the hospital and has been reunited with her daughter.
