31-0. Northwest Missouri State head coach Mel Tjeerdsma addmitted after the game he hadn’t envisioned a defeat that large over the tenth-ranked team in Division II. But that’s just what his Bearcats provided yesterday, shutting out Nebraska-Omaha for the first time since 1947.
Northwest Missouri State held the Mavericks scoreless in four redzone trips and forced two turnovers to preserve their first shutout of the season. Junior running back Xavier Omon had two touchdown runs in the victory.
