The results of the Republican State Auditor’s race are now official. Secretary of State Robin Carnahan has certified Platte County Auditor Sandra Thomas as the winner following a recount requested by Representative Jack Jackson, who finished a very close second in the August 8th Primary Election. The recounts produced little change in the results, so Jackson has called Thomas to congratulate her. He’s now shifted gears and is working with the Talent for Senate campaign. As for the victor, Thomas is pleased to see the Primary race come to an end. But she says she’s been focusing on November for the last month or so and will continue to set her sights on Democrat Auditor candidate Susan Montee. Thomas says the delay in certification hasn’t been a problem at all – she has been campaign for November since the unofficial results from August 8th came in. The final vote total for Thomas was 86,880, compared to 85,008 for Jackson.
