Winning is supposed to be a great deodorant. Apparently, the odor in Kansas City was too much for Royals starter Runelvys Hernandez and catcher John Buck. Not even a 5-3 win over the Indians could keep the two away from each other.

After finishing the third inning with a strikeout, Hernandez returned to the dugout and had a few words for Buck. The battery mates came together and started exchanging punches before teammates and coaches separated them.

Hernandez pitched two more innings getting the win. He allowed three runs on eight hits. Four Royals relievers pitched a scoreless inning apiece with Joe Nelson finishing the ninth for the save.

Esteban German led the way offensively for KC going 4-for-4, driving in a run, and scoring three times. Mark Grudzielanek chipped in with two hits and two RBI.

Kansas City got win No. 23 on the road, topping their total from last season.
