For the second week in a row, a Missouri Tiger has been named Big 12 Player of the Week. Against Murray State, it was Chase Daniel and his five touchdown passes that earned him offensive honors. This week, against Ole Miss, it was Marcus Bacon’s effort that earned him Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The senior linebacker forced a fumble and snagged an interception to go along with his 12 tackles in the Tigers 34-7 win over the Rebels. Mizzou’s stingy defense held the Ole Miss offense to just 162 yards. Through two games, Bacon leads the team in tackles (24) and Mizzou is atop the Big 12 in team defense, second in the NCAA.
