A tight defense and an accurate foot helped Scott Linehan get a win in his first regular season game as Rams head coach. St. Louis forced five turnovers and Jeff Wilkins booted a career-high tying six field goals in an 18-10 Rams win over the Broncos.

Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer threw three interceptions; prompting whispers that maybe Denver should go with first-round draft pick Jay Cutler. Rams first-round pick Tye Hill accounted for one of the picks. Aside from the turnovers, there was plenty of pressure from Leonard Little and company to the tune of four sacks. One of Little’s sacks resulted in a Plummer fumble that gave the Rams the ball on the Denver 3.

Steven Jackson rushed for 121 yards on 22 carries for an otherwise inconsistent Rams offense. Marc Bulger was a sub par 18-for-34 for 217 yards.
