Some professors at the University of Missouri-Columbia are hoping to offer a minor in Homeland Security next year. A spokesman for the Department of Nuclear Engineering tells the Columbia Missourian that Missouri would be the first Big 12 school to offer that program. The school has had a couple of courses about terrorism since 2000 – Science and Technology of Terrorism and Counterterrorism, and Nonproliferation Issues for Weapons of Mass Destruction.
