Missouri State alum Shaun Marcum held the Royals to one-run in six innings, leading Toronto to a 6-3 win.

The Blue Jays immediately got on the board scoring pairs in both the first two innings. Toronto added a run in the fourth and fifth to take a 6-1 lead. Kansas City tried to make a game of it, bringing runs across in the fifth, seventh, and ninth, but Jeremy Accardo and closer B.J. Ryan finished the ninth to close the door. Ryan got credit for the win.

Royals first baseman Ryan Shealy had the only multi-hit game. Mark Grudzielanek and Mark Teahen each drove in runs.
