State Treasurer Sarah Steelman has eliminated speculation she’ll challenge Governor Matt Blunt in the 2008 Republican Primary. Steelman has told her hometown newspaper, the Rolla Daily News, that she’s not going to run against Blunt. Governor Blunt has not committed to run for re-election. Steelman was a State Senator for eight years before winning the State Treasurer’s job two years ago.
