One of Missouri’s most prominent basketball coaches not only has been fired as a coach, now he apparently had been fired as a teacher, too. Former St. Louis Vashon High School coach Floyd Irons has gotten a new letter saying he would not be staying in the school district as a teacher, either. Irons was fired after 33 years and ten state championships at Vashon afer an audit showed the school’s basketball program was short of thousands of dollars. The audit blamed mismanagement. Irons was the school’s athletic director in addition to being its basketball coach.
