University of Missouri running back Tony Temple was scheduled to be in court Thursday, but he was found practicing with the team instead.

The junior running back was absent from Boone County Circuit Court as his lawyer, Travis Jacobs, requested a continuance in Temple’s misdemeanor assault charge. The continuance was granted, but no future date was announced.

The charge stemmed from an incident June 11 in which Temple is accused of hitting a Bennigan’s restaurant employee in the restaurant’s parking lot. Head coach Gary Pinkel immediately suspended Temple but allowed him to participate in summer workouts. The suspension has since been lifted and Temple is practicing with the team during Fall camp.
