Jason Bartlett had a career night while Joe Nelson had one to forget, as the Twins steamrolled right past the Royals completing a four-game sweep with an 11-5 win, Sunday.

Bartlett was 5-for-5 marking his first five-hit performance in the majors. That was just the beginning for the Twins who tallied 22 hits. Six Twins had at least three hits. Jason Tyner recorded four hits. Five Twins drove in two RBI.

Oddly enough, the game was actually a lot closer than the final score indicates. The Royals only trailed 6-5 going into the eighth inning, that’s when Nelson entered the game and pretty much gave the game away. Nelson allowed five runs on seven hits in just one inning. Kansas City couldn’t recover from that. Despite surrendering all those runs, Nelson escaped the loss, that distinction went to Todd Wellemeyer who gave up just one run in two innings.
