Senator Jim Talent travels to Fulton to outline his plan to help secure America’s borders. Among other things, the comprehensive proposal calls for additional manpower, with the hiring of 5,0000 additional Customs and Border Protection personnel over five years and an increase in Immigration and Customs Enforcement inspectors by 5,000 over five years. It also authorizes $5-Billion over five years to acquire new technology, construct roads, fences and barriers, and purchase helicopters. And, it eliminates conditional parole for detained aliens. Talent says there is another key element on his immigration reform wish list – no amnesty for illegals. Talent says he’s pleased the Senate approved a plan, this week, to buld and repair fencing along U.S.-Mexico border.
