The Chiefs and Ty Law have made it official. Law passed a physical and shortly thereafter inked his John Hancock on a five-year, $30-million deal.

Kansas City was looking for another cornerback to join Patrick Surtain after the departure of last year’s starter Eric Warfield. The need for another high-profile defensive back became even more necessary because of the number of play making pass catchers in the AFC West. Randy Moss (Raiders), Jerry Porter (Raiders), Rod Smith (Broncos), Jevon Walker (Broncos), and Antonio Gates (Chargers) are all capable of putting fear into any secondary.

Law will reunite with head coach Herm Edwards after the two spent last year in New York with the Jets where Law led the NFL with 10 interceptions.
