Jeff Weaver gave the Angels 6.2 innings of one-run ball, as the Angels beat the Royals 3-1, Sunday. Weaver (7-0) became the first rookie to win his first seven starts since Fernando Valenzuela did it for the Dodgers in 1981.

Adam Kennedy drove in the first Angels run in the second inning, singling to center and driving in Juan Rivera. Los Angeles scored two more runs in the fourth to make it 3-0, before Mark Teahen drove in the lone Royals run in the sixth.

Losing pitcher Brandon Duckworth (1-4) pitched five ineffective innings, allowing three runs on five hits and walking four batters.
