Another Cardinal has been named to the National League All-Star team. Shortstop David Eckstein will replace the Mets’ Jose Reyes, who’s out because of an injury.
Reyes was scheduled to start in tonight’s game, but that doesn’t mean Eckstein will get the same honor. Instead, former Cardinals shortstop Edgar Renteria, now with the Braves will replace Reyes in the starting lineup. Eckstein’s addition to the team gives St. Louis the most active players on the NL team (four).
