A new poll on Missouri’s U.S. Senate race indicates the contest remains very tight. The Rasmussen Reports survey of 500 likely voters shows incumbent Republican Senator Jim Talent and Democrat challenger Claire McCaskill are tied with the backing of 42 percent of those surveyed. This poll, compared to the most recent Rasmussen Reports survey, shows a percentage point drop for Talent and a two percentage point pickup for McCaskill. A Research 2000 poll, conducted in June, gave McCaskill a 49-43 percent lead over Talent among decided voters. Meanwhile, a Zogby interactive poll, taken around the same time, showed Talent with a 49-44 percent lead among decided voters.
