A series of news conferences by Representative Ryan Silvey of Kansas City to announce what is billed as a major fee office reform plan is back on. Stops in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Springfield are scheduled for Monday. The events were to be held on June 26th, but Silvey and a number of other Republican lawmakers involved in the effort put the announcement on hold after being asked to do so by Governor Blunt. The Kansas City Star reports Silvey says he was tired of waiting for a chance to discuss the matter with the Governor, so Silvey is moving forward. A press release from Silvey’s office describes the proposal as one that would dramatically reform the selection process for fee office contract agents.
