The Springfield Cardinals found out what every other opponent already knows about Neal Musser. No team has been able to beat the Wichita starter, and the Cardinals aren’t any different as they lost to the Wranglers 5-3, Tuesday.

Musser remained unbeaten at 4-0, pitching six innings allowing three runs on five hits and striking out four. The three runs rose Musser’s ERA to 1.95. Reliever Gabe DeHoyos pitched a perfect 1.2 innings to get the save.

The Wranglers opened the game with three runs in the first inning of Cardinals starter Chris Lambert. Walter Sevilla and Chris Lubanski led off the game with back-to-back walks before Alex Gordon blasted a three-run homer deep to center field. Springfield managed to tie the game scoring all three of its runs in the third inning.

The Cardinals failed to do anymore damage, while Wichita scored another run in the fourth and once again in the eighth.

Lambert took the loss surrendering four runs on five hits in 5.1 innings.
