The Royals haven’t had many things to boast about this year. They could try to find some enjoyment in its 7-2 win over the Twins ending Minnesota’s 11-game winning streak.

David DeJesus extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a home run that sparked a four-run third inning.

Lew Ford hit a two-run homer in the top of the second to give the Twins the lead, but the Royals bounced right back. DeJesus put the Royals on the board with is fourth home run this year. Mark Grudzielanek followed the blast with a double, and after Doug Mientkiewicz struck out, the Royals drew three consecutive walks. Angel Berroa singled to right scoring Emil Brown and Matt Stairs. The play would’ve scored three runs, but Mark Teahen was thrown out at the plate.

Starter Jimmy Gobble went five innings giving up two runs on five hits to get the win. Elmer Dessens recorded the final eight outs to earn the save.
