The Springfield Cardinals were held to just three hits and three runs in a 4-3 loss to Wichita.

Wranglers starter Junior Herndon pitched eight strong innings allowing the three hits and three runs while striking out six. The win broke a six start winless streak. Reliever Nate Hoelscher got the save.

Springfield built a 3-0 lead after scoring a run in the first inning and two more in the fifth, but Wichita kept fighting and erased the early deficit. Angel Sanchez’s sacrifice fly in the seventh put the Wranglers on top.

Cardinals reliever Kevin Ool took the loss. Springfield has lost six straight.
