The Springfield Cardinals started the second half of their Texas League season the same way they ended the first half. The Cardinals went into the three day all star break suffering an 8-1 loss to first half champion Tulsa. They came out of the break losing 8-2 to San Antonio.

Home run derby winner Wladimir Balentien homered for the third straight game for the Missions, he finished the game 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Missions starter Ryan Feierabend went seven innings giving up two runs on five hits and striking out eight to get his third win in a row.

The Cardinals scored two runs in the first inning before the home team rattled off eight unanswered.
