Rico Washington and Juan Richardson both hit their 13th home runs of the season helping the Springfield Cardinals beat Arkansas 3-2.

The Travelers managed to carve out two runs on just four hits. Cardinal’s starter Stuart Pomeranz won his seventh game of the year. Mark Worrell nailed down the door in the ninth to get his 16th save. Worrell is two saves shy of the Texas League lead.

Pomeranz improved to 7-2 giving up two runs on four hits and striking out two in eight innings.

Richardson and Washington scored and drove in all the team’s runs. Washington hit a two-run homer in the fourth to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead. Richardson also scored on that play before jacking his insurance home run in the sixth.

Springfield improved to 36-26, they’ve won four in a row.
