Midlands Jed Morris continued his hot hitting leading the RockHounds past the Springfield Cardinals 12-6 Monday.

Morris extended his hitting streak to 10 games after going 3-for-5 including two home runs and a double. He also scored three runs and drove in two.

Five RockHound hitters had multiple-RBI games. Matthew Allegra, Vasili Spanos, and Lloyd Turner, all had two RBIs. Brant Colamarino led the way driving in three.

Rich Rundles (3-4) started for the Cardinals. He struggled giving up seven runs on eight hits in five innings. Things started out really bad for Rundles. In the first two innings alone he gave up six runs.

Reid Gorecki hit his Texas League leading 11th homer of the season.

The Cardinals are 30-19 and tied with Tulsa for first place in the Texas League North standings.
