The proposed roof for the Truman Sports Complex in Kansas City won’t be rolling any time soon.

Jackson County legislators announced that the proposal to add a retractable roof to the complex will not be on the August ballot.

The NFL has promised Kansas City a Super Bowl in 2015 if the roof is added. County Legislator Dennis Waits doesn’t want to lose that event, but political and business opposition forced him to change his plans of having the bill on the ballot.

There is a chance that it could be up for vote on the November ballot. Jackson County Executive Katheryn Shields doesn’t mind that happening, but she wants the Chiefs and Royals to chip in some money for the project.
