State Agriculture Department officials are showing Japanese and Taiwanese visitors Missouri beef this week. Delegations from the two countries are looking at beef farms in Cape Girardeau, Audrain, Miller and Camden Counties. Japan still has a ban on importing American beef, but the state of Missouri has developed a Quality System Assessment program that officials hope encourages Japan to reopen its markets for Missouri-made beef.
