The final events for the MSHSAA Boys and Girls Track Championships were held over the weekend for Class 1 and 2.

Malden High won the team title in Class 2. They won by 14 points over runner-up Brookfield High School. Trey Porter had the highest finish for Malden finishing second in both the 100 meter dash and the 110 meter hurdles.

Polo High School pulled out a narrow eight point win over Saxony Lutheran to get the Class 1 crown. The championship was the second straight team title for Polo. Andy Ahart won two events for Polo. He ran 11.59 in the 100 meters and 22.78 in the 200 meters to rack up first place points in those events. Two Polo relay teams also came in first. They finished first in the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays.

In girls action, Crystal City edged out defending champions Marceline 44-38 to get the Class 2 team title. Precious Selmon led the way for Crystal City winning three events. She claimed wins in the 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles, and the long jump.

Worth County repeated for the Class 1 crown. They amassed a team total 52 points. Worth County only had one event winner, but totaled enough points to win the championship. Alissa Miller won the team’s only event running a 47.30 in the 300 meter hurdles.
