Forbes magazine puts four Missouri cities on its list of smaller cities that are good places for doing business or starting careers. Columbia is 16th, Jefferson City is 46th, Joplin is 136th, and St. Joseph is 156th. The magazine had its list of large metro areas in an earlier edition.
