The State Senate’s plan for spending $372-Million from the sale of assets of the Missouri Higher Education Lending Authority has been approved after about 13 hours of debate. Along the way, Senate leaders had to turn aside several attempts to change the allocations or the purpose for the bill. The House and Senate still have to agree on a final version. The MOHELA board says it’s not sure it can sell its assets and give the state the money.
