It took awhile, but a Royals’ starting pitcher finally won a game on Sunday. Jeremy Affeldt allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings as the Royals beat Cleveland 5-1 for their second straight win. Before Sunday’s game, Royals starters were 0-9 with a 6.25 ERA this season. Affeldt earned his first win as a starter since he beat the Twins on July 23, 2003. The Royals took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. Tony Graffanino led a 13-hit attack by going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
