A bill called “TIF Lite” by one Senator has won tentative approval in the State Senate – a measure making some changes in the Tax Increment Financing program, but the sweeping changes some senators had hoped for. Tax Increment Financing allows developers to keep some of their taxee and use the money to help finance the development.
