On Wednesday the Springfield Cardinals handed the Tulsa Drillers their first loss of the season and were close to giving them their second on Thursday. But Tulsa’s Jordan Czarniecki blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the 11th to give the Drillers a 6-3 win.

The Cardinals came into the game riding a three-game winning streak and things looked bleak for them through the first seven innings. They trailed 3-0 going into the eighth, but right fielder Nick Stavinoha cut the deficit to 3-2 with a two-run homer, his first of the year. In the ninth The Cardinals had a chance to take the lead, but only tied the game. Juan Richardson and Jarrett Hoffpauir hit back-to-back, one-out singles. With runners on first and third, Dan Moylan hit a ground ball, which led to a force out at second. Richardson scored to tie it at 3-3. Matthew Dryer also singled to move Moylan to second, but Mike McCoy ended the threat by striking out.
