Rico Washington and Reid Gorecki blasted grand slams on Tuesday, to lead the Springfield Cardinals to a 14-6 win over the Tulsa Drillers.

Washington helped out the Cardinals long before his grand slam, though. After the Drillers jumped out to a 4-0 lead, his two-run homer in the fourth inning cut the defeicit to 4-3.

In the fifth, Washington hit the grand slam to cap a six-run rally and give the Cardinals a 9-4 lead. He finished the game 2-for-4 with seven RBI’s. Gorecki’s bases-loaded blast came in the eighth inning and gave Springfield a 14-5 advantage.

Starting pitcher Richard Rundles lasted five innings and got the win. It was Tulsa’s first loss of the season.
