Homicides in Missouri’s biggest city are down 24 percent from where they were a year ago, when murder numbers in Kansas City regularly made headlines. Kansas City has counted 22 homicides this year, down from 29 in 2005 at this time. Police are troubled, though, that the percentage of youg adults 17 to 26 years of age killed this year is double last year’s rate.
