On October 19th of last year, the Cardinals lost to the Houston Astros 5-1 in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series. That ended the season and a 39 year run for Busch Stadium as the home of the Cardinals. It was the second home of the Redbirds to be called Busch. The third will open today. This morning, thousands will crowd downtown St.Louis to christen the park. It’s different than the one they just knocked down. It is more open, featuring a design that is more reminiscent of stadiums from generations ago. This morning, a landmark of the old place be given a new home. The Cardinals will unveil the new placement of the Stan Musial statue. Stadium dedication begins at 10. Gates open at noon and the Cardinals will face the Brewers at 3:10.
