An annual survey of the litigation environment in states throughout the country finds Missouri is making great improvements in welcoming business. The 2006 State Liability Systems Ranking Study, conducted by Harris Interactive between November of last year and March of this year, places Missouri in 35th place on the list of states as they are viewed by U.S. business for what is called the reasonable and fair tort liability system. U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue says Missouri has jumped five spots on the list – and he credits the litigation reform passed by the Legislature and signed into law by Governor Blunt. Delaware tops the list of states with tort liability systems considered fair to business. West Virginia comes in dead last.
