The search committee to find a new head basketball coach at the University of Missouri is no longer needed. That committee included former MU players Jon Sunvold or Gary Link. The two talked to the Kansas City Star. Sunvold said he learned that his services were no longer needed, when Mario Moccia, a senior assistant in the Athletic Department informed him of the news. Moccia, who was also on the search committee, is no longer on board. Sunvold described their job as more of a screening committee than a search committee. Sunvold, Link and Moccia were all in favor of giving Bob Huggins an interview. Sunvold said Chancellor Brady Deaton and Alden weren’t comfortable with Huggins, who has accepted the head coaching job at Kansas State.
