Spring will arrive on a snowflake in many parts of Missouri today. The National Weather Service says a storm system should blow into Missouri from Texas by tonight, bringing sleet and snow that could reach six to eight inches and more north of Interstate 70. The northwest corner of Missouri could be in for as much as a foot of snow. Columbia could see five to nine inches; Jefferson City, two to five, the same as the St. Louis area; 3 to 6 inches in the Kirksville area. Lesser accumulations are expected in southern Missouri. But it is March and the Weather Service predicts temperatures in the 30s and 40s.
