The Pembroke Hill Raiders won the girls Class 3 championship in dominating fashion over Blair Oaks 66-40.

Both teams spent the first half trying to establish their game plan. Pembroke’s strategy was to dump the ball into sophomore center Elyseia Dunn and work the perimeter with Kristina Mingos. It proved to be more than enough as Blair Oaks had no answer. The inside-outside game of Dunn and Mingos combined to score 28 points in the first half to help take a 33-20 halftime lead.

The second half proved to be nothing different as Blair Oaks continued to struggle offensively and defensively. The Falcons came in averaging 54 points a game, but only managed 40 against the Raiders.

Dunn finished the game with 30 points, while Mingos trailed right behind her with 26.

This year’s championship could be the first of many for these two teams as neither had more than two seniors.

It is the fourth State title for Pembroke.
