The Ozark High School Lady Tigers grabbed their second straight Class 4 state championship on Saturday with a 48-38 win over Lee’s Summit West at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

Ozark junior guard Katie Bond got off to a slow start in their semifinal win over Lutheran South the day before, scoring just two points in the first half. She didn’t suffer the same fate on Saturday. Bond hit four three pointers, including one at the buzzer, for 12 points after two quarters. Ozark took a 27-16 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In Ozark’s 42-32 Class 4 semifinal win over Lutheran South on Friday, Katie Bond got off to a slow start scoring just two points in the first half. Bond didn’t suffer the same fate, as she led the Lady Tigers to their second straight Class 4 Girls Championship over Lee’s Summit West on Saturday.

However, Bond was held to just two points in the second half and the Lee’s Summit West Titans took advantage. Kiera Powell’s bucket with 3:53 to go in the game pulled the Titans to within four points and made the score 36-32.

But Ozark hit 12-of-15 free throws down the stretch to seal the game.

Bond finished with a game-high 14 points. Powell’s ten as tops for LSW, which is in just its second year of existence. They finished the season 22-9, while Ozark wrapped up the title with a 25-6 mark.
