The Ozark Tigers are just one win away from their second-straight Class 4 girls basketball championship after a 42-33 win over Lutheran South in the semifinals Friday morning.

The game was tight, with a 10-10 tie after the first quarter, a 16-16 tie at the half and a 26-26 tie after the third, before Ozark pulled the game away late with a 5-0 run to start the fourth quarter. Neither team could distance itself from the other in the first three quarters, as Ozark’s 16-12 lead in the second quarter, was the largest lead until the fourth quarter.

Lutheran South junior Briana Frigerio, who averages 17.7 points per game was held to five in the first half. Ozark’s leading scorer, Katie Bond was handcuffed to two points, she averages 14.2 a contest. But she put the Tigers on her back in the second half, scoring 12 of her 14 over the final 16 minutes. Frigerio and teammate Coutrney Lauer finished with 10 to lead the Lancers.

Ozark improved to 24-6, while Lutheran South ended its season with the same mark
