The Cardinals used a three-run rally in the top of the 10th inning to beat the Washington Senators 7-4 in Grapefruit League play on Wednesday. The Cardinals took the lead when Senators outfielder Marlon Byrd misplayed a hit by John Gall and Chris Duncan scored from first. Duncan also hit a solo home run. Brian Daubach hit a three-run home run in the first. Chris Carpenter allowed two hits over four innings of work.

The Royals played two split-squad games against the Brewers and Korea. Kansas City scored four runs in the eighth to force extra innings, but lost 7-6 in 10 innings. David DeJesus, who signed a five-year contract worth a reported $20 million, hit two singles.

Kansas City topped Korea 7-4, despite allowing two runs in the top of the ninth inning.
