The UMKC Kangaroos stay in Tulsa is over. They lost to Chicago State 75-66 in the opening round of the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament on Sunday. UMKC blew a 51-39 lead in the second half to earn the early exit.

Chicago State was able to do most of their damage from the free throw line in the second half—25 of their 47 points in the second half came from the charity stripe. CSU’s Royce Paaran scored 19 of his game-high 30 points from the free throw line, hitting 19-of-23. Chicago St. was 28-of-36 for the game from the free throw line and 25-of-29 in the second half.

Dee Ayuba was the only UMKC player with more than eight points, with 24.

With the loss, UMKC ended its season with a 14-14 record.
