Rookie Jay McClement had three assists as the Blues topped the Canucks 4-1 in Vancouver Sunday. The win capped a four-game season sweep of the Canucks this season, as the Blues wrapped a three-game road swing by going 2-1.

Scott Young got things going with a goal assisted by McClement and Dean McAmmond at the 2:18 mark of the first period. With 2:02 to go in the first, Barrett Jackman made good on his fourth goal of the season to make it 2-0. McClement earned his second assist of the game on the goal.

The Blues took a 3-0 lead midway through the second period when Christian Backman scored his fourth goal. Anson Carter got his 24th of the season for Vancouver’s only goal of the game at the 16:41 mark of the second.

A power play goal at the 11:49 mark of the third by Lee Stempniak was the final tally of the game. It was assisted by Keith Tkachuk and McClement.

Blues goaltender Curtis Sanford stopped 23 shots on Sunday. St. Louis has won seven of its last ten. They come home on Wednesday to face the Avalanche.
