Prison inmate Michael Taylor, who came within hours of being executed two weeks ago, will get a hearing before a panel of the federal appeals court in St. Louis on April 18th. Taylor is one of two men under a death sentence for kidnapping, raping, and murdering 15-year-old Ann Harrison in 1989. His lawyers want a new hearing before a federal judge on whether lethal injection is unconstitutionally cruel and unusual punishment. State lawyers say Taylor has been given fair hearings by the courts on that issue.
