Hearings will be held in Annapolis and in Ironton this week on a plan to contain and cap a big pile of lead-contaminated soil at the Doe Run lead plant in Glover. The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Natural Resources have signed off on the proposal. The soil is from a trailer park in Middlebrook. Most of the lead content has been removed. The soil will be used to cover a slag pile at the Glover plant, which closed a year ago.
