A partnership between Ford and VeraSun Energy – a renewable energy company – will create what is being called a Midwest Ethanol Corridor in Missouri and Illinois. Curt Magleby, Ford’s Director of Governmental Affairs, says the project will expand the number of gas stations serving E85 ethanol. E85 contains 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. There are currently only 27 public stations with E85 capability. The first phase of the Midwest Ethanol Corridor effort will increase that number by about a third.
