A jury in Independence has convicted Daniel Porter of kidnapping his two children in 2004, but his ex-wife says the conviction changes nothing – because the children are still gone and Porter still won’t say where they are or even if they’re alive. Porter will be sentenced April 6th. He faces 38 years in prison. The prosecutor says he might ease his recommendation for a maximum sentence if Porter tells what happened to the children.
